Plans to build from different plans ???

OK,

So we've been a little side tracked with our tame boat builder pointing us toward building a Boatspeed 23 out of foam/fibreglass. We were meant to go to the Gold Coast today to view the moulds for this boat. For the second weekend in a row the owner of the moulds became unavailable at the last moment. So due to this I decided it would be a mistake to try to build from the moulds as I don't trust the guy to be available to let us have access to the boat we would be trying to build in his shed. I have also had a lot of misgivings about how appropriate the hull design with its wings/racks/speed would be for Donna and I.

Now we're back to business and we have our tame boat builder 'Crofty' back at work finishing of the model of our design. We will hopefully see the finished model later this afternoon! Which will mean another post with pictures of the model (polystyrene - foam). The idea is now being floated to build Peters' design from foam/fiberglass instead of strip plank timber/ply. The cost difference would be minimal--more expensive than timber by very little and more than likely cheap than building a Boatspeed 23 (no travel costs for starters).

The end result will look very similar to Shazza but will be structurally different having either no frame or frames in different places to the i550 and the planning surface will be noticeably longer, narrower and more rounded (less stable) than the i550.
