Sailing in company with "More Dough"

We had a great sail today because we got to sail in-company with friends today for the first time. It was good to see just how well or badly 'Charlene' would go up against another fast and well sailed boat.

Our friends Chucky and Eve have a pretty slick 7.8m racer/cruiser/sportsboat which they brought out today to go for a cruise with us for a couple of hour. This was just a nice long windward work and a turn around for a kite ride home.

Chucky and Eve went easy on us I think and didn't leave us too far behind on the windward work and turned around to come back to us from a half mile or so lead after an hour and a half or so sail. We then both set spinnakers and it was every boat for themselves back to the creek.

Thanks to Chucky and Eve for the photos of us

We put up our smallest kite, our green one, and got a hiding from 'More Dough'. After a while I got that down and went for our biggest, the Lexmark monster, and we went much better but our company was far away and there was no chance of reeling them in.

It was great to have racing take a back seat and have notes to compare back at the ramp on what could be improved in  a totally un-competitive way.
