First fairing coat on

Now for the stuff that I don't like. We got the bottom fibreglass on and now I have put on the first fairing screed of epoxy on to fill the fibreglass weave. This screed of filler needs to be sanded back and then another thicker coat will be applied with a tillers' screed which is grooved. What this will do is leave 'lines' of epoxy filler which when sanded back will leave behind small amounts of bog/filler in the hollows. I will then be able to go back and completely fill these hollows with more filler--the theory is it will save time, we'll see.
Problem number #1, the very last batch of epoxy filler was mixed incorrectly (the measuring scales went on the blink at exactly the wrong time), this means there is now about 3/4 m2 of sticky mess that needs to be scraped/methylated spirits wiped off--should only take about 3 days to get off as opposed to the 45mins it took to put it on. Not happy about that. But the fibreglass is the structural part and it is absolutely supurb with no dramas at all, no dry spots or lifting areas or over-epoxied areas so the filler issue is just a pain in the ass but nothing detrimental to the final product. The bad filler will be taken off with soft tools as slowly as required.

For those like me who want to see this thing right way up! Nice.....
